I have been a member of Wantagh Memorial Congregational Church for over 60 years, beginning as a child attending with my parents and siblings. I grew up here—through church school, confirmation, youth group, potluck dinners, and Sunday services. My parents were very active, serving as board members, and their dedication left a lasting impression on me. Over the years, I have raised my own family here, watching my three children grow within this same caring community. I’ve also had the privilege of seeing the church evolve and adapt alongside the changes in Long Island, while still holding onto its core values. This church has been an important part of the Wantagh community since its early days, and its commitment to service continues today. Currently, I serve on the Board of Trustees, my husband is a deacon, and I am part of the search committee as we look for a new pastor. While some things have changed over time, the heart of this church remains the same—a welcoming, supportive place dedicated to serving others. Whether membership grows or shrinks, the spirit of community and kindness never wavers. If you are looking for a church to become part of, I encourage you to give us a try. WMCC has allowed me to feel I could continue practicing according to the teachings of Jesus after I left the Catholic Church. I could no longer ascribe to the dogma of my lifelong faith and after many years without a spiritual home, I found a community of like-minded people who could practice their faith openly and honestly, without compromising their sense of justice for others. I am proud to be a part of this spiritual community. I feel I’ve developed a much closer relationship to God through WMCC, and I’ve made wonderful friends that are more like family. Now, my family and I have a consistent community of faith that we have formed relationships with.  We absolutely love the services because they focus on the principles Jesus taught us - love your God with all your might, love your neighbor and help the less fortunate.  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.  I've only had one interaction with this east coast (New York) church. But it was positive and it turns out the church, the pastor or both  welcome all loving people; that Jesus prefers a loving atheist more than a hateful Christian.
