"As you know, there are numerous factors that contribute to a child’s school success. Although emphasis tends to be placed on academics, your child’s physical, emotional, and social well-being are of equal importance. I truly believe that a positive school experience can only be achieved if we work collaboratively in your child’s best interest. You are your child’s strongest advocate and, even at this early age, you have a powerful influence on your child’s learning as well as on their attitude toward learning. That said, the staff and I are committed to providing the best possible educational experience for your children. PLAYGROUP PROGRAM
PLAYGROUP REGISTRATION (2.5 YEARS OLD)

Session Times
9:45 AM- 11:45 AM & 1:15 PM- 3:15 PM
Our Playgroup Program is designed to help 2 ½ year-old children separate and socialize in a small group setting. During their two-hour stay, children will work on an age-appropriate craft, engage in free-play, sing songs and listen to a story. They will also participate in indoor or outdoor play (weather permitting) and have snack-time. While interacting with their teachers and peers, children learn the concepts of sharing, taking turns and following simple directions. Equally important, they learn to become independent, self-confident students that enjoy attending school!
Pixie Playgroup is divided into two sessions. Session 1: September-January and Session 2: January-May. If your child is two, on or before May 31, you may enroll your child in Session 1. If your child is two, on or before September 30, you may enroll your child in Session 2. If your child does not meet the age requirement, please call the school office. Tuition is due on or before your child’s first day. When you enroll in Session 1, you are automatically enrolled in session 2.

Our Music Program
Every week, Pixie students engage in music & movement. Our students perform in shows throughout the year. We have a Halloween, Holiday and End of Year Show as well as a Mother’s Day Show.
Our Science Program
Our science teacher gets children's’ curiosity running wild with her hands on, center based, learning activities. Units vary by season providing an assortment of topics to coincide with classroom lessons as well as NYS Learning Standards.
Every week, Pixie students transform into “scientists in training” as they perform experiments right in our own science lab!
Mrs. Linda Corbo, science teacher and former Pixie parent, holds a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood from St. Josephs College and a Masters of Science in Education from the College of Staten Island.
